All tours given are for historical and educational interest only. We do not advocate historical revisionism (particularly in regard to the Holocaust) or support or otherwise endorse political extremism of any type. Further, whilst some tours may focus on “Celtic”, Roman, Napoleonic or military themes, this should not be interpreted as supporting the politics, policies and events of these periods and governments nor individuals cited.

Individuals who, in the course of a tour, attempt to use the locations visited or historical information given to further any racist or political belief (of whatever persuasion) shall be barred from further participation in the tour, without recompense.  Dark History encourage historical debate and discussion but will not allow our services to be abused. All visitors to Germany (whether or not they take a tour with Dark History) are reminded that denial of The Holocaust and the giving of the so-called "German Greeting" carry severe penalties here. Ignorance of this fact is not a defence. Further, what you might consider to be a funny rendition of, for example, a certain John Cleese  sketch would be of great offence to many and probably at the least, you would get a word from the local police. They certainly would not find it amusing.

We do not currently accept deposits to book your tour. We will accept all bookings by either e-mail or telephone contact in good faith. If you do not intend to take your tour, please repay our good faith by informing us as far in advance as possible.

Dark History shall not be held responsible for any loss or damage to property or individuals on any tour. Be aware that bicycle paths run along many pavements and also that in Europe, traffic drives on the right-hand side of the road. Whilst every care is taken on tours, we cannot be held responsible for accidents or incidents outside of our control. Ensure that you have adequate medical cover before you take your holiday.

The company reserve the right to refuse or change the services offered on this website, verbally and on printed media, for any reason, at any time. When possible however, any changes or potential problems will be communicated as far in advance as is reasonably possible. If you have any doubts or worries about your tour - please refer to "Latest News". If a tour will not be running due to inclement weather, attack by Martians or because we have a private booking that day, it will be mentioned here.

Persons who are, or appear to be, obviously intoxicated or otherwise under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused the offered services. On some tours a lunch break is included. If alcohol is to be imbibed during lunch, please do so responsibly.

All tours require a degree of walking. Should you be interested in taking a tour but are worried about accessibility issues, please contact us. Many of the sites and locations listed are wheelchair friendly but a few sites may present problems. Please advise us of any potential mobility issues prior to your tour.

Duration of tours is subject to change due to variables such as weather conditions and the speed at which customers are walking. Therefore, all timings are approximate. If you are on a tight schedule then please tell your guide so that they can help you to make your deadline.

Please check the local weather conditions and dress accordingly. In the winter months suitably warm clothes are a must whilst a hat and gloves are strongly recommended. In the summer months Bavaria can be incredibly hot: protection from the sun is of paramount importance. A bottle of water is never a bad thing to have either.

Good, sensible shoes or boots are also must for all tours regardless of the weather conditions. High heels or similar are definitely not recommended!

Last but by no means least: please ensure that you have a great time in Bavaria. Dark History Tours can help you achieve this.
