History tours of Munich  (see http://www.ricksteves.com/graffiti/graffiti140.html)
My boyfriend and I would like to let people know about Taff Simon and Dark History tours in Munich, Germany. By pure chance we bumped into Taff, who happens to be a professional archaeologist and expert on German military/World War II history, and arranged a tour with him. He gave us a walking tour which encompassed history from ancient times to the Third Reich. He will tailor the tour to your interests. It was a wonderful way to spend the little time we had in the fascinating city of Munich. We would enthusiastically encourage anyone who can take a walking tour and enjoys history to take one with Taff! His rates are very reasonable. I believe tours can be booked through his "Dark History" website.

Dark History Tours (see http://www.ricksteves.com/graffiti/graffiti140.html)
Well it was that time of year again, myself and some former army buddies decided to take our wives on a cultural tour of Southern Germany, and see all the sites we never really paid much attention to when we were young and stupid. Munich was our first port of call, and after spending a couple of days taking it easy (transatlantic flights seem to get longer as you get older!!), we decided to take a tour. World War 2 is something that is close to the hearts of guys of my generation, our dads fought in it, and our moms stayed home and worried, so we were really pleased when we came across 'Dark History Tours - Third Reich tour'. And what a great time we had! even our wives had fun! Maybe it's a cliche but the tour guide Taf Simon really brought the history alive with little touches like original photographs, papers, and ID's he was able to share with us. We really learned a lot too (and have since been on Amazon to buy more books on the subject!), I had no idea about the German resistance movement, and found it all fascinating. Overall, a really great experience, my buddies enjoyed it, our wives enjoyed it (and appreciated the good value) and next time we're in town, we'll be sure to stop by and take in another tour. As they say in Britain - cheers Taff!

Hey my wife and I had a really great tour experience with 'Dark History Tours'.Taff was friendly and really knew his subject well, my wife who's not much into history really found the whole thing fascinating. We really enjoyed our Third Reich tour about Munich, thought it was great value and have recommended it to friends and co-workers alike.

I recently took an all day themed tour in Munich with Dark History Tours. In the morning the guide showed us around sites like the Feldherrenhall, Gestapo HQ, and Hitlers HQ. We also saw where Sophie Scholl was arrested. In the afternoon - after a liquid lunch - he took us to the Deutsche Museum, where we saw a couple of uboots and some fantastic WW1 and 2 planes (although they were all german I noted). They even had a V2. I was shocked to see this stuff on display in Germany as I thought it was a taboo subject. If WW2 is your thing guy these guys a go.

Hi Taff,

Its G. from Cardiff. You were kind enough to give us a tour of Munich. Just wanted to thank you for the tour, it was really interesting. It made our time in Munich. It was good to meet a fellow Welshman as well.
Kind Regards

 Dear Mr Taff:

It has been very remiss of me but I have only just found the time to write to you to say thank you for the most informative our during our time in Munich. What you told us left us with an idea of what life at that time was and we feel for the terrible burden that Germany has had to bear. In fact, the next day we headed to Dachau [Memorial site]. We truly enjoyed our stay in Munich and thank you very much for sharing its history with us.

Kind regards,

N.H and family. USA
